NHS Health Checks are available once every 5yrs, free of charge to all patients age 40yrs to 74yrs. Please ask at reception if you have not yet had your health check inlast 5yrs. and if you are not already under survaillance due a chronic vascular condition.

NHS Bowel Cancer Screening

People between ages of 60 and 74yrs will automatically receive a kit for stool sample testing once every 2yrs. This test detects hidden traces of blood which may indicate cancer.

People over 75yrs can request a kit by telephoning

New shingles vaccine

This vaccine is being offered to certain age groups this year - those eligible will receive a letter of invite.

Flu vaccine for 2 and 3 and 4 year old children

This vaccine is being offered this year to 2 & 3 year olds with certain birth dates - those eligible will receive a letter of invite.

Screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm

Letters will go out to invite for this screening scan later this year for men age 65 years.  If you are over 65 and feel you would like this screening please contact the Service directly to discuss this - their telephone number is 0191 445 2963

Summary Care Record

A summary care record is an electronic record with NHS England to support your care. It consists of your name,address, date of birth your NHs number,your medications and past allergies. This is availble to health professionals envolved in your care.

You have choice and you can opt out. if you wish to opt put then please ask at reception and fill a form.

Serving You

All petients registered with this practice have been allocated a named GP and this is Dr A Garg. 

So you dont have to wait if you feel you need to see a doctor.....we run open surgeries between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. every weekday morning - there is no need to book, just simply come along and book in at Reception between the times specified

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.


Like to register?

If you are new to the area and would like to join our Practice, simply phone 01772 600081 or come and see us at Croston Medical Centre between 8.30 am to 6.30 pm You will be asked to complete and sign a registration form and will be given further details about the Practice.  You will need to bring 2 forms of ID - one personal (ie. passport, driving licence, birth certificate, etc) and one of your address (ie. utility bill).

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.


The Practice is run from two separate premises; the main purpose-built premises at Croston has all the facilities at ground-floor level, and a branch surgery at Eccleston Health Centre, where surgeries are held two days each week.

Both premises are easily accessible for disabled people.
